Transforming Workforce Planning in Health and Aged Care

Background
Commenced a strategic plan with a start-up HR platform to address fragmented workforce management in mid-market enterprises across India and ASEAN. As regulatory demands and staffing shortages intensified in healthcare, the platform has evolved from advanced workforce planning in manufacturing, retail and professional services to support hospitals, aged care providers, and health departments in Australia.

Approach
3i Strategy partnered closely with an innovative workforce management platform to reposition beyond HR Operations.  We developed a scalable service offering that combined software with managed services—enabling intelligent centralised rostering and scheduling, standardised skill frameworks, and evidence-based workforce planning.

Journey
Together, we led market validation in India and ASEAN, then built a specialised go-to-market playbook for Australia’s complex healthcare system. We facilitated stakeholder engagement with hospitals, unions, and clinical managers to align staffing tools with real-world demands. This included mapping to Fair-work legislation, National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards and State based Health Departments addressing skill shortages and critical care issues such as ambulance ramping and care minutes for acuity levels.

Outcome

The platform is now recognized as a pioneer in skills-based rostering in Australia and the APAC/ASEAN, with pilot deployments in hospitals and aged care settings initiated as well as across manufacturing, retail and services businesses. The solution is well poised to improve nurse-to-patient ratios, comply with complex acuity based targets, support patient care quality and workforce morale. The solution is set to become a leading enabler for health systems tackling post-COVID burnout and workforce shortages while increasing efficiencies and reducing healthcare costs.
